Professional tennis player from Ecuador named Emilio Gómez Estrada primarily competes on the ATP Challenger Tour. He is presently Ecuador’s top tennis player. His highest ATP singles ranking was No. 90 on February 20, 2023, and his highest doubles ranking was No. 254 on September 14, 2015. On March 4, 2016, he defeated Adam Hornby of Barbados in a Davis Cup match by a score of 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, becoming one of two players that day to win by that margin at a tournament for the first time since 2011.

After winning his first championship at the 2019 Tallahassee Tennis Challenger in Florida, he rose to the top 200 on April 29, 2019. Gómez participated in the 2020 French Open qualifying programme and entered the main draw, where he lost to Lorenzo Sonego in the opening round. He qualified for the 2022 Australian Open and competed there, where he was defeated by Marin Cilic, the 27th seed. In Gwangju, South Korea, he made it to his sixth Challenger final of the year. On 10 October 2022, he achieved a new career-high ranking of No. 98, propelling him into the top 100.

He won over fourth-seeded Miomir Kecmanovic and Gabriel Diallo in Dallas to advance to the quarterfinals. Only three ATP matches had he won prior to the competition. On February 13, 2023, he rose to a new career high of No. 94 as a result. He maintained his good form by defeating qualifier Wu Tung-lin in his opening match of his subsequent competition in Delray Beach.
