Alexander Bublik is a professional tennis player from Kazakhstan who was born in Russia. He has been ranked as high as world No. 34 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he achieved for the first time on September 13, 2021, and is currently Kazakhstan’s No. 1 singles player. Bublik’s career-high doubles ranking is world No. 47, which he achieved on November 8, 2021.

Bublik announced in November 2016 that he would begin representing Kazakhstan after transferring his citizenship from Russia. Despite not having won an ATP title in his career, he has finished second in four singles finals and one doubles final. Bublik has never advanced beyond the third round of a Grand Slam singles tournament, but he did reach the finals of the 2021 French Open with partner Andrey Golubev before losing to Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert. Bublik, who stands 1.96 metres (6 feet 5 inches) tall, is known for his powerful serve and currently leads the 2021 ATP Tour in aces served this season.

Bublik made his first Grand Slam semifinal in doubles at the 2020 Australian Open, partnering fellow Kazakh Mikhail Kukushkin and losing to Rajeev Ram/Joe Salisbury. Bublik advanced to the semifinals of the Marseille Open, where he was defeated in straight sets by Stefanos Tsitsipas. Bublik advanced to the quarterfinals of the Hamburg Open as a Lucky Loser, defeating Albert Ramos-Violas and Felix Auger-Aliassime before losing in three sets to Cristian Garn. He beat Gael Monfils in the first round of the 2020 French Open, but lost to Lorenzo Sonego in the second round.

Greek-born French tennis coach and sportscaster Patrick Mouratoglou lives in France. Until 2022, he served as Serena Williams’ trainer. Simona Halep has been under Mouratoglou’s tutelage since the spring of 2022. Ada Obilu and Patrick are now married. In 1996, he established the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in the vicinity of Paris (it was later moved to the outskirts of Nice). He has coached a number of up-and-coming athletes, including Marcos Baghdatis (whom he guided to the 2006 Australian Open final), Julia Vakulenko, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Aravane Reza, Irena Pavlovic, Jérémy Chardy, Laura Robson, Yanina Wick

Patrick Mouratoglou, Apostolos Tsitsipas, and Stefanos Tsitsipas began coaching Stefanos in his tennis academies in 2015. Simona Halep started working out with Mouratoglou in the spring of 2022. In October 2022, during Halep’s absence from the WTA Tour due to her doping suspension, he started coaching rising young star Holger Rune. With his assistance, Rune won his first Masters 1000 Title by defeating Novak Djokovic in the final.
