Paula Badosa and Yulia Putinseva are scheduled to face one another in the round of 32 of the 2022 Canadian Open
Spanish tennis player and fourth seed Paula Badosa will kickstart her 2022 Canadian Open against Yulia Putinseva. Badosa had earlier taken part in the Silicon Valley Classic where she made it as far as the semi-final before being beaten by eventual champion Daria Kasatkina. The Spaniard was seeded fourth at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships but could only make it as far as the round of 16. She was eliminated by 16th seed and veteran Simona Halep by a score of 6-1, 6-2. The Spaniard will be looking to make amends for her under par form off late at the Canadian Open.
Yulia Putinseva’s last competition was not one she would look back fondly upon. The Kazakh was seeded second in the Palermo Ladies Open but was eliminated in the second round by an unseeded Diane Parry. She did however have a good performance at the Hungarian Open where she made it to the semi-final stage.
Paula Badosa and Yulia Putinseva are scheduled to face one another in the round of 32 of the 2022 Canadian Open on Wednesday, August 10. The tournament is scheduled to run from August 8 till August 15.
The 2022 edition of the Canadian Open is set to begin from August 8 and go on until August 15. The men’s final is scheduled to be on August 15 and the women’s one is set to be held on August 14. There will be six rounds of play in the main draw excluding the qualifiers.
