The first month of the ATP calendar will once again feature the ATP ASB Classic in Auckland. Since 1956, this ATP 250 event has been held annually and is the only top-tier tennis competition held in New Zealand. That is, until COVID-19 occurred in 2020, after which the event was postponed for the following two years. The competition will begin on January 9 and last until January 14, 2023.

The ASB Tennis Centre in Auckland, New Zealand, will host the ATP ASB Classic in 2023. It is primarily an outdoor hard-court competition that serves as a warm-up event for Australia’s first Grand Slam of the year. Since the main court lacks a retractable roof, it’s possible that some games will be moved indoors because of the bad weather this past week. Due to the weather, which continues to mess with the daily schedules, some WTA matches were played indoors during the week. The most recent tournament was held in 2020, and Ugo Humbert was the victor. Following that, the coronavirus pandemic caused the last two editions to be cancelled.
