The Indian pair of Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee are having a sensational run at the WTT Contender Tunis 2023. The duo claimed a stunning victory over South Korean top-seeded pair of Jeon Jihee and Shin Yubin with a 3-2 win and secured their place in the finals of the women’s doubles. This will also mark the first final of the Indians as a pair. 

Despite a first-round setback with a score of 7-11, the Indian paddlers displayed resilience by winning the second and third rounds with matching scores of 11-9 and took a lead over the World no. 4 pair of Jeon Jihee/ Shin Yubin. The South Korean team bounced back to equal the game by claiming the fourth game by 7-11 and pushed the match into the final round. However, Ayhika Mukherjee and Sutirtha Mukherjee demonstrated great poise in a high-pressure situation and won in the deciding set with a score of 11-9.
