The World Aquatics Championships 2023 in Fukuoka, Japan, which begin on Friday, will feature a 10-athlete Indian team led by Olympians Sajan Prakash and Srihari Nataraj. The World Aquatics Championships, which end on July 30, will be held for the 20th time, and will feature medal competitions for both sexes in the sports of swimming, artistic swimming, open water swimming, diving, high diving, and water polo. For the men’s 1m and 3m springboard events, India has only entered one diver, London Singh Hemam. Meanwhile, there are three men and four women swimming in open water. But the four swimmers will be the standout members of the Indian team.

While fellow Tokyo 2020 Olympian Sajan Prakash will be competing in the 50m and 200m butterfly events, Srihari Nataraj will be participating in all three backstroke events (50m, 100m, and 200m). Aryan Nehra, who will compete in the 800m and 1500m freestyle events, will also draw a lot of attention. Aryan Nehra, 19, recently won four gold medals at the Indian swimming championships in Hyderabad and was named the event’s top swimmer. At the Hyderabad meet, Aryan Nehra also shattered the 400m freestyle and medley national swimming records. The other swimmer representing India in Japan is Kushagra Rawat, who is competing in the 400m freestyle.
