Advani moved to Bangalore, India after being raised in Kuwait. He attended the Frank Anthony Public School in Bangalore and graduated from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College with a bachelor’s degree in business. At the age of 10, Arvind Savur, a renowned sports & performance psychologist, noticed his snooker prowess after being taught to the game by his cousin The Dr. Shree Advani. At the age of 12, he won his first championship. Later, he set other records at the national and state levels. He won the Indian Junior Billiards Championship for the first time in 2000 and again in 2001 and 2003. He became the youngest National Snooker champion in 2003 after winning the India Junior Snooker Championship.
Advani made his international competitive debut at the Asian Billiards Championship in Bangalore in 2002, where he finished as the champion. Advani won the IBSF World Billiards Championship in 2005 in Qawra, Malta after capturing the amateur World Snooker Champion title there in 2003. There, he became the first individual to complete the “grand double” by winning both the point and time forms. a performance he repeated at the Bangalore competition in 2008. Only one Indian won the global amateur championship in both billiards and snooker.
