The Tokyo Olympics 2020 has so far seen 115 Indians qualify for the marquee event that will begin on July 23. Here is the entire list of people from all the states.
The Tokyo Olympics 2020 is less than three weeks away. The event, which was postponed by one year due to the coronavirus pandemic, will have severe restrictions. No fans will reportedly be allowed for the games. There are several restrictions on the media covering the events as well.
When it comes to the Indian contingent, a total of 115 athletes have qualified for the marquee event so far. If one looks at the statewise distribution of athletes from India, then the maximum of them have come from Haryana. The state has often produced medal-winning athletes in the past decade in Olympics, Commonwealth and the Asian Games. Here is the statewise distribution of Athletes for Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Haryana tops the list with the maximum number of representations followed by Punjab. There are no athletes from Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Bihar and Arunachal Pradesh. There are no athletes from the Union Territories of Ladakh, Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar and Puducherry.
Haryana and Punjab dominate in wrestling and hockey while there is a fair representation from the state even in shooting. Shooting is considered to be India’s best bet for a medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
