Friday was a relatively good day for India at the Tokyo Olympics, despite not managing to win a medal on the day. Several of the Indian athletes performed exceptionally well and can be proud of their performances. The biggest game on the day was the women’s hockey bronze medal match between India and Great Britain. There was also wrestler Bajrang Punia in action who went quite a long way and performed reasonably well throughout his bouts on the day. The men’s relay team also displayed a very impressive performance while golfer Aditi Ashok kept her calm and delivered yet another consistent performance.

ADITI ASHOK IN MEDAL CONTENTION

Golfer Aditi Ashok started drawing a lot of eyeballs after two days of brilliant golfing performances. Once again, Aditi showed just how good she really is in the women’s individual stroke play event. It was round 3 of the event and she retained her spot at the second position at the end of the day’s play. She seems to be in serious contention for a medal but there are still two more rounds yet to be played. For Diksha Dagar, it was a little disappointing. She is currently at 51st after three rounds of play.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY TEAM GOES DOWN FIGHTING

The India women’s hockey team was in action on the day in what was possibly the most anticipated match. It was the bronze medal match against Great Britain. Unfortunately, the match went in favor of the British team but the Indian team put up a very good fight. The scoreline at the end of the match was 4-3 and it was the GB team that bagged the bronze medal. However, the Indian team can be extremly proud of their overall achievement at The Games this year.
