Sushil Kumar Case : As progress in the case, Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar’s arms license was cancelled by Delhi Police. Kumar was arrested in the alleged murder of 23-year-old Sagar Rana at Chhatrasal Stadium. Reports by ANI suggest the cancellation process has already begun by the License Department.
The Delhi Police’s crime branch took Kumar to Haridwar, where reports suggest the wrestler had fled, officials said. The police said he was taken to Haridwar to sequence of events following the incident
Kumar and his associate Ajay were earlier taken to Bathinda and Chandigarh to trace the steps. Police are trying to figure out what folded after they fled the city following the wrestler’s death.
As per reports, as many as nine people have been arrested in the wrestler’s murder case. Three out of 12 are still absconding.
“Sushil Kumar is the primary mastermind and the main culprit of this heinous crime wherein a young wrestler died,” the prosecution told the court as quoted by India Today.
Sushil Kumar and his aide, Ajay were arrested in Delhi on May 23 after being on the run since the murder of the 23-year-old wrestler.
Earlier on Friday, Delhi Police’s crime branch arrested the ninth person linked with the wrestler murder case. He claimed that he was the one who beat the wrestler at the parking lot on the night of the crime. The crime branch has also named a person from Tikri village. The person allegedly confessed to beating Sagar Ratna and his friends on the instruction of Sushil Kumar.
Dhankar was the son of a Delhi Police constable and trained at the stadium. On May 4 at midnight, a brawl between him and a few men including Kumar took place in Chhatrasal Stadium. Sagar died on May 5 because of the injuries he sustained in the brawl.
Wrestler Sagar died and two of his friends sustained injuries after they were allegedly assaulted by Kumar and others.
