Sushil Kumar Case: Delhi Court sends 6 others to judicial custody in murder case

A Delhi court sent six people who were arrested in Sagar Ratna murder case to judicial custody. Two-time Olympian Sushil Kumar is allegedly one of the main perpetrators of the whole incident. Sushil’s police custody was extended earlier extended by four days.

As per reports, as many as nine people have been arrested in the wrestler’s murder case. Three out of 12 are still absconding.

“Sushil Kumar is the primary mastermind and the main culprit of this heinous crime wherein a young wrestler died,” the prosecution told the court as quoted by India Today.

Sushil Kumar and his aide, Ajay were arrested in Delhi on May 23 after being on the run since the murder of the 23-year-old wrestler.

Earlier on Friday, Delhi Police’s crime branch arrested the ninth person linked with the wrestler murder case. He claimed that he was the one who beat the wrestler at the parking lot on the night of the crime. The crime branch has also named a person from Tikri village. The person allegedly confessed to beating Sagar Ratna and his friends on the instruction of Sushil Kumar.

18 persons were allegedly involved in the commission of the offence, the report said.

Dhankar was the son of a Delhi Police constable and trained at the stadium. On May 4 at midnight, a brawl between him and a few men including Kumar took place in Chhatrasal Stadium. Sagar died on May 5 because of the injuries he sustained in the brawl.

Wrestler Sagar died and two of his friends sustained injuries after they were allegedly assaulted by Kumar and others.
