The European 10-meter Shooting Championships were recently held in Tallinn, Estonia, with Norway emerging as the overall winners. The competition began from March 5 and continued till March 12, 2023. Norway topped the medal tally with three gold and three silver medals. Serbia and Italy finished joint-second by winning three gold, two silver, and three bronze medals each.

In the men’s air pistol final, Damir Mikec, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medalist, claimed Serbia’s first title. He got the better of double continental champion Ruslan Lunev of Azerbaijan 17-13 in the decider. Although Italy’s Paolo Monna failed to make the final round, he still managed to secure a bronze medal after finishing third in the ranking match. His 249.6 points left him 0.9 points ahead of Jason Solari of Switzerland. In the mixed team air pistol competition, double world gold medalist Zorana Arunović and Damir Mikec combined their skills to deliver Serbia’s second title of the Championships. The duo easily defeated Italians Chiara Giancamilli and Federico Nilo Maldini 17-9 in the decisive match.

Milutin Stefanovic, Milenko Sebic, and Lazar Kovacevic contributed to Serbia’s impressive performance, defeating Austria’s Alexander Schmirl, Tobias Mair, and Martin Strempfl 16-2 in the men’s team air rifle final. In the women’s team air rifle final, Norwegians Katrine Lund, Jenny Stene, and Jeanette Hegg Duestad managed to snatch a tight 17-15 victory over Teodora Vukojević, Andrea Arsović, and Ivana Maksimović Anđušić, securing a silver medal for Serbia. Duestad, who had already won two gold medals, continued her dominant form to win a third gold in the women’s individual air rifle event, defeating Britain’s Seonaid McIntosh 16-10.
