What happened in the mixed team recurve event?

Brady Ellison and Casey Kaufhold’s performance helped the United States qualify for the gold medal match in the recurve mixed team division for the sixth consecutive Archery World Cup Stage. The American team managed to navigate the shifting wind conditions and clinch a 6-2 victory despite dropping the third end of their semifinal match against Spain’s Elia Canales and Miguel Alvarino Garcia at the Archery World Cup 2023. By significant margins, they overcame Poland and the Czech Republic, both of which were remarkable victories over Germany and Italy in the preliminary rounds. The United States has now won at least silver in the last four World Cup stages, winning gold in Paris, silver in Gwanju and Medellin, and bronze in Antalya.

Who will the dominant USA face in the finals of the recurve mixed team?

Post reaching the final of the Archery World Cup 2023, Kaufhold stated, “It feels good. It’s kind of familiar now. We were in other medals matches in mixed team last year, so it’s nice to be back in a new season. Brady and I shot really well, so I’m happy with how it went today and to be in the final.” The American team will battle it out for the gold medal on 23rd of April, Sunday, against Chinese Taipei’s Chiu Yu-Ching and Tang Chih-Chun. Eighth-seeded Chiu and Tang defeated top-seeded Zhang Mengyao and Li Zhongyuan from China with a commanding 6-2 victory in the second round. They also defeated Olympic champion Mete Gazoz and Ezgi Basaran of Turkey, prevailing 5-3 in a closely contested match determined by the Chinese Taipei duo’s two Xs in the third end.
