Atanu Das, the two-time Olympian who gained re-eligibility through trials, will lead India at the Archery World Cup 2023 Antalya , which gets underway on Tuesday in Antalya, Turkey. Eight men and eight women from India are participating in the first international outdoor competition of the year. In addition, Jyothi Surekha Vennam, the silver medalist from the world championships, and veteran Olympian Tarundeep Rai will compete. Recurve and compound archers are both eligible to compete in the Archery World Cup. Individual event winners will automatically qualify for the Archery World Cup Final, which will take place in Hermosillo, Mexico, in September.

Atanu Das, a recurve archer, is taking part in the competition, but his wife and former no.1 Deepika Kumari, who was unable to qualify through trials held in SAI Sonipat in February, was left out of the Archery World Cup 2023 Antalya. Abhishek Verma, a top name in men’s compound archery, will also be absent from the competition. The other members of the Indian men’s recurve archery team are Atanu Das and Tarundeep Rai, as well as Dhiraj Bommadevara, who won the trials, and Neeraj Chauhan, a youngster. Compound archery’s top contender from India will be Jyothi Surekha Vennam. The Archery World Cup Stage 1 in Antalya in 2023 will feature more than 390 archers from 52 nations. The event’s conclusion is set for April 23.
