The Baku leg of the ISSF World Cup 2023 will be held from May 8 to May 15, 2023. Manu Bhaker, who won the gold medal at the Youth Olympics, and Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil, the current world champion in the men’s 10m air rifle, Will head a 34-person Indian delegation at the ISSF World Cup 2023 for rifle/pistol shooters, which gets underway on Wednesday in Baku, Azerbaijan. The competition in Baku is the penultimate round of the ISSF World Cup for rifle/pistol shooters. Before the ISSF World Championships begin in November in Doha, the final stage will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Manu Bhaker will participate in her favorite 10m and 25m pistol shooting competitions. After completing Stage 2 in Cairo, Rudranksh Balasaheb Patil will compete in the individual 10m air rifle event for his second gold medal of the year. Rudrankksh Patil’s gold medal at the world championships last year helped India qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics. At the Baku meet, Divyansh Singh Panwar will be with him. Swapnil Kusale, an ISSF World Cup gold medalist, will compete in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions. In addition, his fourth-place finish at the world championships the previous year earned India a quota spot for Paris 2024. Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, an Olympian, will compete alongside him in the men’s 50-meter rifle three-position event.
Anjum Moudgil, an Olympian from Tokyo, will head India’s challenge in the women’s 50-meter rifle third position. Among the other seasoned shooters on the Indian team are women’s rifle former junior world champion Elavenil Valarivan and women’s pistol silver medalist Esha Singh from the world junior championships. With three gold medals and four bronze, India is in fourth place overall in the 2023 ISSF World Cup standings. China tops the table with seven gold medals and two silver medals.
