The year includes several significant events like the Asian Games 2022, World Championships for a multiple numbers of sports, annual tennis Grand Slams, and so on. The calendar will begin with the FIH Men’s Hockey World in January as India hosts the mega event scheduled to take place in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela, Odisha. While the prestigious Asian Games 2022 which was postponed to 2023 due to increasing Covid-19 cases in China will be held from September 23 to October 8, 2023.
Considering the success of Indian athletes in track and field events lately, all eyes will be on Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, Commonwealth Games silver medalists Avinash Sable and Murali Sreeshankar, and Commonwealth Games champion triple jumper Eldhose Paul. They will look to carry forward the same momentum as they aim to book their spots for the Summer Olympics 2024 in Paris.
