The Europe’s premier multi-sport extravaganza, the European Games, is set to kick off its third installment with an inspiring inauguration event at Kraków’s Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium on the 21st of June, continuing until the 2nd of July, 2023. It’s a significant occasion as Kraków-Malopolska 2023 becomes the first European Games to be hosted within European Union territory. The games are cheered on by two delightful official mascots – “Krakusek” and “Sandra”, taking the form of dragon and salamander, respectively.

In this edition, eight sports make their debut in the games, including padel, teqball, rugby sevens, ski jumping, muaythai, beach handball, breaking, and sport climbing. The European Games 2023 offers an extensive lineup with an impressive 26 sports being contested. Olympic sports will be in the spotlight with 19 categories featuring as part of the qualification journey for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The different events in athletics sport, taking place over six days in Chorzów, Silesia, is where 16 current European Champions will vie for the coveted European Games individual titles in their respective sports, besides the European Athletics Team Championship divided into three categories.
