The Washington Capitals will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Capital One Arena in an NHL game on Wednesday. Washington beat the Edmonton Oilers 5-4 in their last game as Evgeny Kuznetsov and Dylan Strome scored two goals each while Alexander Ovechkin added on goal.
Goaltender Charlie Lindgren finished the game with 25 saves and a save percentage of .862. After the game he said, “There’s a lot of grit, a lot of compete in this group. As a goalie, you love to see it. It makes you play even harder. It’s a fun group. We’re all competing, we’re all battling hard and to beat a good team like that feels really good.”
The Pittsburgh Penguins on the other hand lost their last game 3-2 to the Seattle Kraken. Goals from Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel were not enough as the Penguins fell short by one goal to the Kraken.
Penguins coach Mike Sullivan spoke after the game and said, “The solution is just making sure we stay in the moment, and we don’t get overwhelmed by all the noise around. We just have to focus on the process and that’s what we’re trying to do. When we don’t live up to the expectations we have for each other and don’t get the results we want, these guys take it to heart. We’ve got to dig in a little more, be more determined, be more vigilant in more critical moments of the game.”
