The match between the Washington Capitals and Montreal Canadiens will take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., United States on Saturday, October 15 at 7:00 PM ET.
The Montreal Canadiens will travel to the Capital One Arena to take on the Washington Capitals in an NHL game on Saturday. Washington have started off badly losing their first two games with the latest one coming in a 3-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Nic Dowd and Marcus Johansson scored the two goals for the Capitals as they fell to their second consecutive defeat.
Washington head coach Peter Laviolette spoke after the game and said, “It was tight. The first period, they came out pretty hard, and I thought our goalie did a really good job of giving us a chance to win. And then in the second and third, there wasn’t as much. We did a much better job defensively and it was more of an even game, kind of back and forth.”
The Montreal Canadiens on the other hand lost their last game 3-0 against the Detroit Red Wings. Cole Caufield and Jordan Harris had four shots each on goal but they could do nothing on the night when the Detroit goaltender Ville Husso was in inspired form. Husso saved all 29 shots that he faced and finished the game with a 100% save percentage.
Martin St. Louis, coach of the Canadiens said after the game, “They were under a lot of pressure. They chipped a lot of puck, they dumped a lot of puck. They came and finished and we just couldn’t make the next play to keep the puck going and beat that pressure. This is a game I think we will learn a little bit from and will be better for it.”
