The Detroit Red Wings will welcome the Chicago Blackhawks to Little Caesars Arena for an NHL game on Wednesday. The Detroit Red Wings lost 3-1 in their last game over the Flyers. David Perron scored his 16th goal for the Red Wings early in the first for a 1-0 lead, and Ville Husso had 34 saves.
Deslauriers stole the puck off a sloppy pass from Jake Walman at the far blue line and streaked all alone to score his fifth goal of the season. He put it past Husso for a short-handed goal in the second period and stretched his arms out like a plane as he skated away in celebration.
“You see the bench when he scores.” They are so happy for him because of all the dirty he has to do for this team,” coach John Tortorella said. “He makes a good stick-check on the play. Huge play in the game to generate energy on the bench.”
The Chicago Blackhawks on the other hand won 5-0 against the Senators in their last game. According to Seth Jones, there is nothing complex about his offensive production of late. “Sometimes you get streaky,” he said. “There are times where they don’t go in, and times where those same shots end up going in.” They are going in at the moment.
Jones scored two of Chicago’s three second-period goals, and the Blackhawks stopped Ottawa’s five-game win streak with a 5-0 victory over the Senators on Monday night. Anders Bjork had three primary assists, and Alex Stalock made 35 saves in his 11th career shutout. Lukas Reichel, Phillipp Kurashev and Jason Dickinson also scored as last-place Chicago (22-36-5) snapped a four-game losing streak. “I thought we played very intelligently with and without the puck tonight,” coach Luke Richardson said.
