The New York Rangers will welcome the New Jersey Devils to Madison Square Garden for an NHL game on Monday. The Rangers defeated defending champions Colorado Avalanche 2-1 in their last game. Braden Schneider scored the only goal in normal time for the Rangers before the game went to a shootout. In the shootout, Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin scored as the Rangers recorded their 14th win of the season.
The New Jersey Devils on the other hand lost out to the New York Islanders 6-4 in their last game. Goals from Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, Dawson Mercer and Tomas Tatar were not enough for the Devils as the Islanders scored two more goals and took the game. Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov finished the game with a save percentage of .862.
