The game between the Nashville Predators and New York Islanders will take place at the Bridgestone Arena on November 17 at 8:00 PM ET.
The Nashville Predators will welcome the New York Islanders to the Bridgestone Arena for an NHL game on Thursday. The Predators picked up a fine 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday. Matt Duchene scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the Nashville Predators to victory. Nino Niederreiter also scored and Juuse Saros made 32 saves for Nashville. Ryan Johansen had two assists.
“I thought 5 on 5, it was a pretty even game,” Predators coach John Hynes said. “I thought they had some strong pushes at certain times. I thought when they were pushing, we were able to defend pretty well.”
The Islanders put up a good fight against the Ottawa Senators to win 4-2 on Tuesday. The Islanders took a 1-0 lead on Wahlstrom’s power-play goal midway through the first period. Noah Dobson scored the tie breaking goal in the second period. Oliver Wahlstrom, Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Brock Nelson also scored, and Mathew Barzal had two assists for the Islanders.
Semyon Varlamov stopped 36 shots to win for the third time in his last four starts. “We were well-prepared and I thought the guys battled hard,” Pageau said. “A lot of sacrifice, a lot of blocked shots, a lot of battles that we won, and (Varlamov) in net was outstanding. He made some really amazing saves for us.”
