The match between the Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins will take place at Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada on Monday, October 17 at 7:00 PM ET.
The Montreal Canadiens will welcome the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Bell Centre for an NHL game on Monday. Montreal lost their last game 3-1 against the Washington Capitals as Nick Suzuki was the only player to score a goal. Cole Caufield had two shots on target and provided an assist but he could not prevent the loss for Montreal.
Forward Jonathan Drouin reflected on the loss and said after the game, “They came at us, got a lot of good shots. They kind of took it to us in the second. I thought we had a good start in the first and obviously a good third period. It kind of stings that way, but they’re a team with experience and a lot of chemistry, and they’re going to find ways to get goals.”
The Pittsburgh Penguins on the other hand won their first two games of the season with the last one seeing them record a 6-2 win over last season’s runners up, Tampa Bay Lightning. Goals from Sidney Crosby, Jeff Carter, Jake Guentzel, Danton Heinen, Rickard Rakell and Bryan Rust saw the Penguins win comfortably over a good Tampa Bay team.
Sidney Crosby who scored one goal said after the game, “You just want to start off on a good note regardless, especially how we finished. If there’s any extra motivation, it would definitely be there for us. I think everyone is excited.”
