The game between the Florida Panthers and Philadelphia Flyers will take place at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:30 PM ET.
The Florida Panthers will welcome the Philadelphia Flyers to FLA Live Arena for an NHL game on Wednesday. The Panthers lost their last game to the Boston Bruins 5-3 with goals from Sam Bennett, Gustav Forsling and Colin White not enough to condemn them to their first loss of the season.
Panthers head coach Paul Maurice said after the game, “They’re on the path. I like the way they think the game. I like the way they treat each other on the bench. Like how wired they are before the game. They like playing. They’re excited. In a game tonight when it wasn’t easy, there was no complaining. They just keep battling.”
The Philadelphia Flyers on the other hand beat last season’s runners up, Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 and in the process won their third straight game since the start of the season. Noah Cates, Scott Laughton and James van Riemsdyk scored the goals for Philadelphia in what was an end to end game.
After the game, John Tortorella, coach of the Flyers lauded his team for their character during the game. He said, “We’ve done some good things in just finding ways to win the games at key times late in the game. They’re showing me they’re ugly, they’re showing me it doesn’t matter, and they still have a little bit left in the tank to get things done.”
