The Edmonton Oilers will welcome the Montreal Canadiens to Rogers Place for an NHL game on Saturday. The Oilers lost 5-3 against the Wild in their last game. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl extended goal streaks for Edmonton, which had won three in a row.
Klim Koston scored with four seconds remaining and Jack Campbell stopped 25 shots for the Oilers.“Our guys gave it everything they had, but we just made a few too many small errors that ended up in the back of our net,” Edmonton coach Jay Woodcroft said. “It was too big of a hill to overcome.”
The Canadiens on the other hand won 1-2 against the Flames in their last game. Cole Caufield broke a third-period tie on a power play, Sean Monahan had two assists against his old team and the Montreal Canadiens beat the Calgary Flames 2-1 on Thursday night.
“It was special,” said Monahan, who played nine seasons with Calgary before being traded last summer. “You get a lot of emotions coming up into the game. “Once I stepped on the ice in warmup I was pretty nervous to be honest, I was the most nervous I’ve been for a long time. I’m just happy we came out with a win.”
