The match between the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames will take place at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada on Friday, September 30 at 9:00 PM ET.
The Edmonton Oilers will welcome the Calgary Flames to Rogers Place for an NHL preseason game on Friday. This tie will be a rematch of the last game where Edmonton lost 4-0 to Calgary. Despite the best efforts of Tyson Barrie and Mattias Janmark, the Oilers had no answer to what the Flames had. Oilers Head coach Jay Woodcroft said after the game, “We knew they were going to dress most of their full lineup. First period we got our sea legs under us and started to play a little bit better. It was 2-0 after two periods, we were competing hard. There were things we can do better offensively for sure.”
Goals from Michael Stone, Brett Sutter, Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar saw Calgary record their third win in four preseason games. Goaltenders Jacob Markström and Dustin had a great game as they stopped everything that came their way. Nazem Kadri who signed as a free agent after winning the Stanley Cup with Colorado said after the game, “Always nice to get a win. We definitely can still be a little bit sharper but hey, it’s pre-season – you gotta shake some cobwebs out.”
