The Detroit Red Wings will welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Little Caesars Arena for an NHL game on Monday. The Wings won 4-3 against the Coyotes in their last game.  Dylan Larkin was the only scorer in the shootout and the Detroit Red Wings extended their winning streak to four games. Defenseman Filip Hronek scored his fifth goal in four games on a power play. 

Hronek, who added an assist, has 10 points in the last six games.“It’s like everything he shoots is going is,” said forward Lucas Raymond, who had two assists. “Everyone knows he has a great shot, so he’s been getting it off and everyone’s seeing it now. I feel we’ve seen it for a long time, we’ve seen it all the time in practice. It’s fun just trying to feed him the puck.”

The Leafs on the other hand won 1-4 against the Penguins in their last game. Mitch Marner extended his point streak to 16 games with a goal and an assist.Auston Matthews became the seventh player in team history with 200 career even-strength goals, William Nylander scored his 12th of the season and Pontus Holmberg his second for the Maple Leafs.

The Leafs who have points in eight straight games and 14 of their last 16 overall. Marner’s goal was his sixth of the season. “(Marner’s) just really leading the way for us,” Maple Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe said. “Clearly, he’s found his game. In all regards, he’s been a difference-maker for us.”
