The Dallas Stars will welcome the New York Islanders to the American Airline Center for an NHL game on Saturday. The Stars picked up a 6-4 victory over the Panthers on Friday. The Dallas Stars scored four goals in the first period. Wedgewood was carted off the ice by paramedics not long after making a save on Anton Lundell in the second period.
Wedgewood ended his night with 21 saves as the Stars held a 5-2 lead at the time of the injury.Wedgewood was treated at the arena and not taken to a hospital. Coach Peter DeBoer classified it as an “upper-body injury” and said Wedgewood would fly back with the team and be evaluated there. “We found a way to get the win and we’ll cross our fingers here and hope Wedgewood is okay.”
The Islanders put up a good fight to win 4-5 against the Predators on Friday. Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Adam Pelech scored one goal and one assist each for the Islanders. Cal Clutterbuck and Kyle Palmieri scored a goal each.
