The game between the Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks will take place at the American Airlines Center on Thursday, December 1 at 8:30 PM ET.
The Dallas Stars will welcome the Anaheim Ducks to the American Airlines Center for an NHL game on Thursday. The Stars lost 1-4 against the Blues in their last game. Scott Wedgewood made 23 saves in an unexpected start and Wyatt Johnston broke a scoreless tie with a second-period goal. Jason Robertson, Ty Dellandrea and Miro Heiskanen also scored for Dallas, which has earned at least one point in eight of its last nine games.
Wedgewood was scheduled to serve as Jake Oettinger’s backup, but moved into the starting role after Oettinger became ill right before the game. “As a backup, you’ve got to prepare in case of anything like this,” Wedgewood said. “I took my nap, I ate my pregame meal. You’ve got to be ready.”
The Ducks on the other hand lost 2-1 against the Predators in their last game. Troy Terry scored, and John Gibson made 39 saves for the Ducks, losers of three straight and six of seven.“What he’s been doing for this team and what is expected of him every night, is not always fair to him,” Terry said of Gibson.
“His attitude this year, his work ethic, it’s really been what’s been our lifeline this year. Night in and night out, he battles for us and gives us a chance. Having him in the net, it’s hard to put into words what it means from an emotional and confidence standpoint.”
