Stalock stopped his 22 shots and helped Chicago to his fifth straight loss.
Four of the Calgary Flames’ six-game win streak in nine games have come in away games. The Flames will look to continue that success Sunday when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks for the opener of a five-game road trip. Calgary proved its effectiveness with a recent victory on Friday. It was a 4–1 home victory over the New York Islanders, where the club scored three goals from just six shots in the first half. Milan Lučić, Coleman, and Nikita Zadrov heated up the race. Add Coleman “His six-shot in the first game isn’t ideal, but he could have missed a bit in some of those games. So it’s good that some chances are rewarded.”
Flames goalkeeper Jacob Markstrom ensured the Islanders would not follow suit, stopping 24 of the 25 shots he faced, including two withdrawals in quick succession in the second half. Markstrom has won five of his last seven games. Chicago also won Friday thanks to an opportunistic attack and a strong goalie. Jake McCabe’s late goal was the only goal on Friday, but Tyler Johnson’s empty shot saved Alex Sturrock’s 2–0 shutout against the Arizona Coyotes.

Stalock stopped his 22 shots and helped Chicago to his fifth straight loss. Although this was Starlock’s first shutout with the Blackhawks and the 10th shutout of his career, he focused more on his team’s stats after the game. Chicago doesn’t do much of that these days. Friday’s victory was his eighth game lead at home since December 23rd.
