The Carolina Hurricanes will welcome the Edmonton Oilers to the PNC Arena for an NHL game on Thursday. The Hurricanes lost to the Florida Panthers 3-0 on Wednesday in what was a dismal display of hockey.

Carolina coach Rod Brind’Amour said after the match, “Their goalie made some good saves and it was a tough game. I did not like our first period, we got behind and slowly kind of got back into it. We had plenty of opportunity, but it has been tough sledding when it comes to scoring. We have one goal in two games and that was off the back of a goalie. It magnifies everything when you’re not scoring. I didn’t love the game. We had too many guys who were not a factor.”

The Edmonton Oilers recorded a slim 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Warren Foegele was on the score sheet for the Oilers on the day. Forward Evander Kane suffered a nasty injury as his left wrist was cut by a skate blade.

Edmonton coach Jay Woodcroft said after the match, “The news that I’ve received so far, it’s very limited, is that he’s in a good spot. He’s getting well taken care of.”
