Khalil Mack is regarded by many as one of the modern greats and one of the best football outside backliner ever to grace the National Football League (NFL) and currently plays for the Los Angeles Chargers. He was born on 22 February,1991 in Fort Pierce, Florida. He played college football for the State University of New York at Buffalo and he won the 2013 MAC Defensive Player of the Year award becoming the first Bull to win the award in Buffalo’s history within the MAC. He was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the 2014 Draft. He played for the Oakland Raiders between 2014 and 2018. He also won the CFPA Linebacker Trophy in the 2013 season and was also named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press.
Khalil finished his college career becoming first in the NCAA for career tackles for loss with 75 and set a new record for forced fumbles with 16. In the student newspaper, The Spectrum, he was also ranked as the best Buffalo football player in the Division I history of the program. Khalil played for the Chicago Bears from 2018-2021 and signed for the Los Angeles Chargers this season. Khalil Mack wore the #52 jersey number for all the teams he played for.
Khalil Mack was picked up by the Oakland Raiders in 2014 NFL Draft. The contract he signed was worth up to $42 million, with $18.7 in guaranteed money. He started his NFL career on September 9, 2018 in the preseason game against the New York Jets he recorded a strip-sack on backup quarterback DeShone Kizer but ended on the losing side as his team lost the match 19-14.
On Week 7, he recorded a season high 11 tackles against the Arizona Cardinals in the 23–16 loss. Khalil ended his first season with 76 combined tackles (59 solo), a forced fumble, three pass deflections and four sacks in 16 games. Mack was considered a candidate for AP Defensive Rookie of the Year in his first season.
