The 2022-23 NBA season began on October 18, 2022, and is scheduled to end on April 9, 2023. We saw so many amazing matches and witnessed some of the most epic moments of the NBA history! One thing is still on everyone’s mind- who will emerge as the strongest contenders and take home the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy? Let’s take a look at some of the top teams to watch out for this season.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers may have had a disappointing finish in the last season, but they’re still a force to be reckoned with. The team is set to make a serious championship run now that Russell Westbrook has joined their already star-studded team of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. If they want to win the championship, they will need to improve their team dynamics and find a method to stay healthy.

Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets are another team that’s loaded with talent. With Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving leading the way, the team has one of the most potent offenses in the league. However, their lack of depth and defensive struggles could be their Achilles’ heel. If the team can find a way to shore up their defense and stay healthy, they’ll be tough to beat.

Milwaukee Bucks

The reigning NBA champions are not to be underestimated. Led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks have a balanced lineup that’s both explosive on offense and solid on defense. If they can replicate their championship form from last season and stay healthy, they could easily make a deep playoff run.

Boston Celtics

The Celtics, without a doubt started super strong and have been doing well since under bench head Joe Mazzulla. The team still has the second-best net rating in the NBA despite what may have been inefficiently hot scoring at the start of the season, demonstrating resilience during a protracted period of injuries. And let’s not forget, it’s also one of the top 5 teams holding the most NBA championships.

Phoenix Suns

The Suns surprised everyone with their run to the NBA Finals last season, and they’re not to be overlooked this year. The team was able to acquire Kevin Durant for a fair deal, especially in terms of current assets, and now has the opportunity to pair him up with Devin Booker to form probably the NBA’s most dreadful scoring combination.

The Suns appeared to be formidable in a tiny sample, but Durant’s recent layup-line error will prevent him from practicing with his new colleagues for several weeks. With Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton leading the way, the team have a well-rounded talent pool that’s capable of going toe-to-toe with any team in the league. If they can build on their success from last season and continue to improve, they could be a real threat in the playoffs.
