The Washington Wizards roster depth will be crucial to their ability to compete for the top slot in the Southeast Conference after a season marred by COVID procedures and injuries.
The season opener for the Washington Wizards’ 2022–23 regular season is scheduled for October 19 at the Indiana Pacers. That will mark the start of what the team believes will be a successful new era headed by Kyle Kuzma, Kristaps Porzingis, and Bradley Beal. T The Wizards will face the Bulls at home on Oct. 21 and the Cavaliers at Cleveland on Oct. 23, after the opening game on Oct. 19. They play the Pacers, Bulls, Cavaliers, Pistons, and Pacers in their first five games of the year. Eastern Conference teams make up their first nine rivals.
Other important encounters for the Wizards include games against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers (Dec. 4 at home, Dec. 18 away), Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets, and Stephen Curry and the reigning champion Warriors (Jan. 16 at home, Feb. 13 away) (Nov. 4 and Dec. 12 at home, Nov. 30 and Feb. 4 away). On December 10, the former Wizards star John Wall will play in front of spectators for the first time when they host the Clippers.

The Washington Wizards aren’t anticipated to make any moves before the season to resolve their logjam and enhance other areas of the team, despite having more swingmen than is probably required. Despite the lack of All-Star caliber players on their roster, the Wizards do have one area in which they can take pride. The team’s shooting guards and small forward make up the swingman position. Three players on the club have the ability to reach All-Star level play, while a couple more have the potential to be highly reliable rotation players.
