The Golden State Warriors suffered a minor blip in the Western Conference Finals when they lost to the Dallas Mavericks 119-109 and in the process, couldn’t complete a clean sweep. After the game, Inside The NBA crew shared some thoughts as to what went wrong in this game and what might happen if the Warriors don’t win their next game. Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley came up with some interesting points that the Warriors should heed if they don’t want to find themselves in a hole come Game 5.
Speaking after the game, Shaq said, “To be honest, they (Warriors) were kind of going through the motions in the first half. Like Dallas came out and played well. The others played well. They hit 20 threes. They tried to come back but it was too late. Steve Kerr made a great point. Dallas played with more force. They played better and they wanted it. Listen, you cant take it away from the Mavs. We knew they were going to come out. Nobody wants to get swept because it’s embarrassing. But the Warriors were not in it.”

Luka Doncic scored 30 points with 14 rebounds and 9 assists and Dorian Finney-Smith dropped 23 points which helped the Mavs to easily down the Warriors who were up 3-0. The Mavs duo’s performances meant that the Warriors have to win the next game in order to not get jittery in their quest to reach the NBA Finals. Charles Barkley, who has a vast knowledge of how it is like to play in crunch situations warned the Warriors that they have to win the next game otherwise, they will have some major problems. He said, “The one thing that sucks about the Mavs is they are not going to win four games in a row. Nobody really thinks that. This same Dallas couldn’t play like this in Game 3.
“The Warriors are still in the driver’s seat. They got a great home-court advantage. Their crowd is amazing. So it’s gonna be exciting but let me tell you something, they better win their next game. They don’t win their next game, everything comes into play because they are not going to come back down here and win because the momentum that Dallas will have will be incredible, so they need to win this next game”, he concluded.
