The Philadelphia 76ers will welcome the Toronto Raptors to Wells Fargo Center for an NBA game on Friday. The Philadelphia 76ers won 116-108 in their last game over the Mavericks. And if that MVP doesn’t come? “I don’t care,” Embiid said. “It’s all about the playoffs.” Embiid had 25 points and nine rebounds, James Harden added 15 points and 12 assists and Philadelphia beat the Dallas Mavericks 116-108 on Wednesday night.
Embiid flashed his MVP credentials as he plays with a calf injury and powered the Sixers back in the fourth against Luka Doncic and got them to 50 wins in 76 games. He hit a 3-pointer to tie it at 103 and followed with a 16-footer the next time down for what ended up the winning basket and keep the 76ers as the No. 3 seed in the East.
The Toronto Raptors on the other hand won 106-92 against the Heat in their last game. Pascal Siakam scored 26 points, Scottie Barnes had 22 points and a career-high 12 assists and the Toronto Raptors beat the Miami Heat 106-92 on Tuesday night.O.G. Anunoby scored 22 points, and Precious Achiuwa and Fred VanVleet each had 12 as Toronto won for the 10th time in 11 home games.
The ninth-place Raptors evened their record at 38-38, reaching .500 for the first time since they were 13-13 on Dec. 9. “We need every game right now,” Barnes said. “It’s going to be close but we need every game, and every game is important for us.” Toronto outscored the Heat and 23-10 on fast-break points and 62-36 on points in the paint.
“I don’t have an answer for that,” an agitated Spoelstra said. “For four and half months of this season we were the very best in the league at protecting the paint. Since All-Star break we haven’t done what we were able to do better than anybody.”
