According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, LeBron James is expected to miss many weeks due to a right foot ailment. James is having more tests and discussions to determine the exact nature of his injury, which occurred during the Los Angeles Lakers’ win against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. The Lakers had earlier stated that James will miss Tuesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies due to a painful right foot.

Following the Mavericks game, James, 38, walked with a visible limp. Late in the third quarter, he collapsed on the floor in discomfort after driving on Dallas’ Dwight Powell. During an on-court interview with ESPN’s Katie George following the game, he stated that he felt he stepped on Powell’s foot, causing the agony; however, replays revealed that it was a non-contact injury.

James completed the game with 11 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter, and Los Angeles won their third game in a row to draw within a game of the No. 10 slot in the Western Conference, which marks the last play-in berth, and 212 games behind Dallas for No. 6.

During All-Star Weekend, James referred to the last stretch of the Lakers’ season as “23 of the most significant games” of his career. Nevertheless, it now looks like he will miss a lot of those as Los Angeles attempts to return to the postseason.
