Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings will welcome the New York Knicks to Golden 1 Center for an NBA game on Thursday. The Sacramento Kings won 123-108 in their last game over the Pelicans. Kevin Huerter scored 25 points, Domantas Sabonis had his eighth triple-double of the season and the Sacramento Kings beat the New Orleans Pelicans 123-108 on Monday night.

Sabonis finished with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. He leads the NBA with 52 double-doubles. The Kings (38-26) have won six of their first seven games after the All-Star break and pulled within a half-game of Memphis for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. “We want to play our first (playoff) game at home,” Kings rookie Keegan Murray said. “It’s not easy, we know we have a lot of tough stretches coming up… we know we have to be locked in every single night.”

Huerter added eight assists and five rebounds. “He should get five rebounds in a game, so I’m extremely excited about that and we need to continue to get that kind of production from him,” Kings coach Mike Brown said. The Kings outscored the Pelicans 38-20 in the third quarter after the game was tied at 59-all at halftime. Davion Mitchell got the start for injured Kings star De’Aaron Fox and scored 15 points and added six assists. Trey Lyles scored 14 points off the bench.

New York Knicks

The New York Knicks on the other hand lost 105-112 against the Hornets in their last game. The Knicks managed 39 points and shot under 30% in the second half, getting outscored by 23. “Just ran out of gas,” All-Star Julius Randle said.

Gordon Hayward had 23 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, and made the tiebreaking basket with 1:50 remaining as the Hornets won for the first time in four games since point guard LaMelo Ball’s broken ankle that required surgery. They trailed by 16 at halftime and were still down nine midway through the fourth quarter before surging past a Knicks team that appeared to lack energy.

“I think at this point in time in the season everyone is tired,” Hayward said. “You’re going through it and games are every other night and they obviously had some emotional wins, too. That’s another part of fatigue, not just the physical but the mental and the emotional. So for us to win tonight was big for our team.” RJ Barrett scored 27 points for the Knicks, who were trying for their first 10-game winning streak since winning 13 straight late in the 2012-13 season. Randle scored 16 points but shot just 5 for 17 from the field.
