Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings will welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves to Golden 1 Center for an NBA game on Saturday. The Sacramento Kings won 128-127 in their last game over the Clippers. Domantas Sabonis made two free throws with seven seconds left to cap a near-triple double in the Sacramento Kings’ 128-127 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.

“We found a way to steal that game,” Kings coach Mike Brown said. “We didn’t respond correctly every time and they took advantage of it. …Sabonis and Foxy, I talked about them making the All-Star game, they’re doing things that warrant All-NBA talk.” Sabonis had 23 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists to help the Kings win their fifth straight game. Paul George missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer for Los Angeles. He finished with 28 points, hitting a 3-pointer to give the Clippers a one-point lead with 51.2 seconds left.

Sabonis responded with a layup on the other end, and George made a layup with 33.1 seconds left to take the lead back. De’Aaron Fox added 33 points for Sacramento for his eighth consecutive 30-point game. Harrison Barnes had 20 points and Kevin Huerter scored 18. “It’s great,” Fox said about the season. “It’s a great feeling. And It’s great because it’s my first time. This is something we want to make annual. We want to be contending for a title. …it’s great for the city and organization. We still want bigger things for ourselves.”

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves on the other hand won 102-110 against the Lakers in their last game. Rudy Gobert had 22 points and 14 rebounds, Anthony Edwards scored 19 points and the Minnesota Timberwolves completed a two-game Los Angeles sweep with a 110-102 victory over the short-handed Lakers on Friday night.

Naz Reid scored 15 for the Wolves, who moved back above .500 and rebounded from an 0-3 stretch with impressive back-to-back wins over the Clippers and Lakers, whose fourth-quarter rally fell just short. Minnesota also blew most of a big late lead three days ago against the Clippers, but their tenacity is promising to coach Chris Finch. “The last couple of games, it’s been big for us,” Finch said. “We’ve found a way. It’s a perfect time to find that resiliency.”

The Lakers trailed by 14 early in the fourth quarter, but made it close with a 16-6 run down the stretch. Minnesota’s lead dwindled to three points before Davis lost his shoe during a defensive possession, leading to Mike Conley hitting an open 3-pointer with 1:13 to play. The Wolves closed it out authoritatively from there.
