Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves will welcome the Philadelphia 76ers to Target Center for an NBA game on Tuesday. The Minnesota Timberwolves won 134-138 in their last game over the Kings. Anthony Edwards scored 27 points and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat Sacramento 138-134 on Saturday night to snap the Kings’ winning streak at five games.

“De’Aaron Fox has been playing out of his mind,” Edwards said. “We were happy to hold him under 30 tonight. He still played great though in the fourth.” Edwards added eight assists to help Minnesota (34-32) win its third straight. Mike Conley scored 24 points and made two free throws with 15.7 seconds left to extend the lead to four.

Jaden McDaniels added 19 points, and Kyle Anderson nearly had a triple-double with 18 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Rudy Gobert had 13 points and 14 rebounds. “I thought we played great all night long,” Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said. “Especially when they tightened it up at the end. …we play a lot in flow. A lot of it was Anthony (Edwards) stepping up at the right time.”

Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers on the other hand lost 143-147 against the Pacers in their last game. Joel Embiid kept making shots and James Harden kept finding open teammates. The combination was all but unstoppable. Embiid scored 42 points, Harden added 20 assists, 14 points and nine rebounds, and the Philadelphia 76ers broke open a close game with a decisive fourth-quarter run to beat the Indiana Pacers 147-143 on Monday night.

“When you have a guy like Joel and a guy like James, it’s hard to stop them,” Pacers guard T.J. McConnell said. Actually, it was almost impossible in a wildly entertaining game that was virtually devoid of defense. Both teams put up numbers more closely resembling those of an All-Star Game. Embiid went 11 of 16 from the field, made all 19 free-throw attempts and posted his 11th 40-point game this season. The 76ers shot 58.5%, had six players in double figures and three with 20 or more points — Tyrese Maxey scored 24 and Jalen McDaniels had 20.
