The game between the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks will take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday, March 31 at 7:00 PM ET.
The Indiana Pacers will welcome the Milwaukee Bucks to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for an NBA game on Friday. The Indiana Pacers lost 136-149 in their last game over the Bucks. Rookie Bennedict Mathurin led Indiana — playing without its top three scorers — with 29 points. Aaron Nesmith had 22 and Jordan Nwora 18. Jalen Smith fouled out early in the fourth with 17. Rookie Andrew Nembhard had 15 points and 15 rebounds.
“It starts with Giannis, one of the best players in the world,” said Nwora, acquired from the Bucks on Feb. 9. “It’s always tough playing a guy like him who is so different. You have to really lock into him. Then other guys get going, Jrue comes in and gets 51. It’s tough to beat them on a night like that.”
Five inactives included All-Star point guard and leading scorer Tyrese Haliburton (ankle/elbow), center and second-leading scorer Myles Turner (back), and guard Buddy Hield (illness), the NBA’s 3-point leader.
The Oklahoma City Thunder on the other hand won 107-106 against the Pistons in their last game. Rookie Jalen Williams’ putback with less than a second remaining gave the Oklahoma City Thunder a 107-106 win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night. The pressure was on for the Thunder, who entered the night two games under .500 and hanging on to the final Western Conference play-in spot.
The Thunder lost to the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night and couldn’t afford another loss to a team near the bottom of the league’s standings. And Oklahoma City guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander — the league’s No. 4 scorer with 31.3 points per game — was out with a sprained left ankle for the second straight game. It wasn’t pretty, but the Thunder found a way.
“We were grittier tonight than we were last night,” Thunder coach Mark Daigneault said. “And I thought the response of our players coming off of a disappointing performance last night was right where it needed to be, and this team’s made a habit of that all year. We’re not perfect, but these guys do a great job of refocusing and getting the car back on the road, and I thought they did that tonight.”
