The Detroit Pistons will welcome the Milwaukee Bucks to Little Caesars Arena for an NBA game on Monday. The Detroit Pistons lost 118-97 in their last game over the Raptors. Jaden Ivey scored 20 points and Marvin Bagley III and James Wiseman each had 14 for Detroit, but the Pistons lost for the 16th time in 17 games. “I feel like our effort was horrible tonight,” Ivey said. “We’ve just got to have more effort.”

Detroit has the NBA’s worst record at 16-58. The Pistons are 7-29 on the road, the worst mark in the Eastern Conference. “We’ve got to all look ourselves in the mirror and say, ‘Is our spirit there?’” Ivey said. “That’s the most important thing when you step out there on the floor.” “They were like a machine to start the game,” Pistons coach Dwane Casey said of Toronto. “That was the difference between the first three games and this game.”

Ivey made nine turnovers. … Shot 6 for 25 from 3-point range. … R.J. Hampton scored 13 points. … Bagley had nine rebounds. … G Cory Joseph (non-COVID illness) and G Rodney McGruder (right foot) were not available, joining long-term absentees Bojan Bogdonovic (left Achilles), Alec Burks (left foot), Cade Cunningham (left leg), Hamadou Diallo (right ankle) and Isaiah Stewart (left shoulder). … F Isaiah Livers started after missing the previous four games because of right hip soreness. He finished with 12 points.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks on the other hand lost 129-106 against the Nuggets in their last game. Antetokounmpo scored 24 points on 11-for-14 shooting in the first half, with all but one of those field goals coming at the rim. Murray (20 points) and Jokic (17 points) kept Denver within three at the break, and then the Nuggets outscored Milwaukee 34-19 in the third quarter to take a 97-85 lead.

Jeff Green dunked on Antetokounmpo to open the fourth as the Nuggets’ lead swelled to 15 points. Grayson Allen hit a 3-pointer to cut it to 103-91 with 9:54 left, but Milwaukee went scoreless for 4:10 while Denver built a 111-91 lead. “It was an amazing dunk,” Jokic said of Green’s dunk. “I didn’t think he was going to do it. He almost fell down, so it was a really nice dunk.”
