Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets will welcome the Sacramento Kings to Barclays Center for an NBA game on Thursday. The Brooklyn Nets lost 121-107 in their last game over the Thunder. Mikal Bridges scored 34 points and Cam Johnson added 23 for Brooklyn, which had won five of its last six games, with four of those wins on the road. The Nets looked at times as if they’d run away in the first half before settling for a 62-52 halftime lead after the Thunder scored the final six points of the half.

To that point, Oklahoma City had made only 2 of 10 from 3-point range. The Nets missed all seven of their 3-point attempts during the quarter and trailed 90-82 entering the fourth. They came no closer than five points the rest of the way and at the end, Oklahoma City pushed its lead to as many as 15 points. “We didn’t finish the (first) half the right way and that led to the third quarter,” Brooklyn coach Jacque Vaughn said.

“We talked about, every single possession for this team matters. Every 50-50 ball matters. You’ve got to get dirty. You’ve got to get on the floor. And you’ve got to get that possession. … We didn’t do that often enough and we paid for it tonight.”

Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings on the other hand won 114-117 against the Bulls in their last game. De’Aaron Fox hit a 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds left to give the Sacramento Kings a 117-114 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night. Fox scored 32 points on 12-for-17 shooting, hitting four 3-pointers. The sixth-year guard is on a roll, scoring 2O or more points in 14 of his last 16 games and averaging over 30 in that span.

And his confidence, especially when game is on the line? “I think it’s through the roof,” Fox said “I have a whole group of guys and coaching staff who believe in me. They have confidence in me taking the last shot, so the least I can do is go out there and have confidence in myself.”

Domantas Sabonis had his second straight triple-double and 11th of the season — finishing with 14 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists — and Sacramento roared back in the second half with hot 3-point shooting. “You know Fox is the most clutch player out there,” Kings coach Mike Brown said. “And Domas with his ability to bring to the table triple-double after triple-double after triple-double and we get a win, both those guys should be on an all-NBA team.”
