The Miami Heat will welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves to FTX Arena for an NBA preseason game on Tuesday. Miami comes into this season after topping the Eastern Conference last season. Jimmy Butler also took them to the Eastern Conference finals but they lost out to an inspired Boston Celtics team over seven games.
Miami did not do much in the off season as their team is more or less set with the right personnel all across the board. Guard Tyler Herro signed a 4 year, $130 million deal recently and looks likely to be the cornerstone of the team for years to come. The Heat also picked up Nikola Jovic in the 2022 NBA draft and will look to ease him in accordingly.
The Minnesota Timberwolves on the other hand finished in seventh place in the Western Conference last season. They came up against the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs and lost over six games as the series ended 4-2 in favour of Memphis. The Timberwolves had a very busy off season and added some great players to their squad.
They signed Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz and gave up a lot of players and future draft picks. The T-Wolves also signed Karl Anthony Towns to a multi year contract extension. They also added players like Austin Rivers and Bryn Forbes to their squad. All in all, the Timberwolves look set to have a good season as on paper, they have one of the most exciting squads with Towns, Gobert,Edwards and D’Angelo Russell.
