On Friday night, the Indiana Pacers will travel to the FTX Arena to play the Miami Heat in an Eastern Conference matchup. With a 16-16 record, the Pacers sit eighth in the East. They just defeated the Boston Celtics 117-112 on the road.
The Heat lost to the Chicago Bulls at home on Tuesday, 113-103, and are in sixth in the East with a 15-16 record. They will play four games against each other, with the first two games being divided evenly between the two sides, and the next game not taking place until early February.
The Indiana Pacers have been playing well this year and just defeated the Boston Celtics 117-112 on the road. The Pacers were able to shoot the ball quite effectively, making just nine tries at free throws and shooting 46 of 98 (46.9 percent) overall, including 18 of 39 (46.2 percent) from beyond the arc.
Tyrese Haliburton, the team’s point guard, led the group with 33 points, three rebounds, eight assists, and one steal in 34 minutes of play. They played well on defense, allowing 31.7 percent from outside the arc, 25 trips to the free throw line, and 38.6 percent shooting from the field. With 10 thefts and three blocks throughout the game, they were also able to force 17 turnovers overall.
The Miami Heat have had a difficult season and just suffered a home loss to the Chicago Bulls by a score of 113-103. The Heat was able to shoot the ball at an average level, making 38 of 81 shots (46.9%), including 15 of 44 from beyond the arc and 17 free throw tries during the game.
Bam Adebayo, a center, served as the team’s captain and ended the game with 27 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and three turnovers in 37 minutes. They had trouble on defense, allowing 54.8 percent field goal shooting, 41.9 percent three-point shooting, and 24 trips to the foul line. Seven thefts and a total of 17 forced turnovers were accomplished by them during the contest.
