The NBA season is just around the corner, and a lot has changed. Fans and bettors are thrilled for another exciting year of action. The odds are out for which teams are considered favourites by oddsmakers and which are underdogs. Certain teams have made major moves this offseason, and they will likely put a fright into every opponent they face.

These teams are filled with talent, including some of the best players on the planet. They have an intimidation factor that will make them a huge challenge nightly. Gambling sites favour them, fans worship them, and opponents run from them. Let’s look at the five most intimidating squads next season.

Milwaukee Bucks

After the trade for Damian Lillard, most Canadian sportsbooks featured on MyBetting Canada will list the Bucks as the favourite. The Bucks were talented before Lillard; now they look like they are the class of the league. Lillard and two-time MVP Giannis Antetokuounmpo will help each other a lot. Giannis will draw defences in for Lillard, while Lillard will space the court with his incredible shooting. There is no way to guard this duo, and the rest of their starting five includes talented players like Brooks Lopez and Khris Middleton. No one will want to see this team on their calendar.

Phoenix Suns

There is no feeling worse than watching your team get bombarded by some of the best scorers in the NBA. Opposing fans better get used to that when they go against the Phoenix Suns. The Suns feature three absolute snipers, with Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal all suiting up for the squad. While defence could be a problem, most oddsmakers believe this team will still be incredibly dangerous. They added a solid amount of talent to round out their roster, with players like Jusuf Nurkic and Eric Gordon adding supplementary play to their All-Star trio.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics have been one of the league’s best teams for the past few years, with the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown leading the way. They decided to switch up their roster heading into next year and traded franchise stalwart Marcus Smart for one of the league’s most unique players, Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis adds a hugely talented third scorer to this team and an elite shot blocker. With Brown and Tatum both in their prime, this team’s window is wide open. Look for them to beat the breaks off many of the opponents they square off with this year.

Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets are the defending NBA Champion, and that commands respect. They have arguably the best player in the world with Nikola Jokic and a talented supporting cast with Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, and Michael Porter Jr. While they have lost some talent this offseason, sleep on this team at your own risk. They have all the ingredients for a consistent championship contender. Jokic and Murray are one of the league’s best tandems, and they will cause nightmares for opposing defences all year long. It would not surprise fans or bettors if they were back in the Finals.

Los Angeles Lakers

After a surprise run to the Western Conference Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers had an incredible offseason. They added a ton of talent around superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis. They resigned rising star Austin Reaves and added players like Gabe Vincent, Christian Wood, and more. They are now a deeper, more talented squad than they were last year. While LeBron is aging, sleeping on one of the league’s all-time greats is a mistake. And Anthony Davis showed that he is still one of the most talented players in the world in the last playoffs.
