The Los Angeles Clippers will welcome the Boston Celtics to the Crypto.com Arena for an NBA game on Monday. The Clippers won 107-114 in their last game over the Wizards. Wall scored 13 points in his return to Washington, and Nicolas Batum made a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 23.8 seconds remaining to help the Los Angeles Clippers send the Wizards to their sixth straight loss, 114-107 on Saturday night. Paul George scored 36 points for Los Angeles.
With Reggie Jackson out Saturday, the Clippers gave Wall his first start of this season. He received an ovation when he was introduced, and then again during an early timeout when a tribute video was shown. “This is something I’ve been waiting for for four years,” Wall said. “The first time I got traded, I came back with Houston, it was COVID so you couldn’t be here. Then last year I wasn’t playing. … I’m glad I got the opportunity to appreciate it and be here, and get the love that I think I deserved. I feel like I got my flowers.”
The Celtics on the other hand lost 123-107 against the Warriors in their last game. Jaylen Brown had 31 points and nine rebounds, Jayson Tatum scored 18 points and Malcolm Brogdon added 16 off the bench for Boston, which had won eight of nine and three straight and faced Golden State’s stingy defense.
“They tested us,” Celtics interim coach Joe Mazzulla said. “They forced us to work to make the right play.” Brown scored five straight midway through the fourth with his 3-pointer at the 6:37 mark pulling the Celtics to 105-97. Grant Williams was ejected with 1:52 left. Poole found Draymond Green for a transition dunk the next time down for the Warriors.
