LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers have fared badly this season and currently sit in ninth place in the western conference. They just haven’t been consistent enough to make a push for the playoffs and currently sit precariously in the play-in tournament spot.

The acquisition of Russell Westbrook has been a failure up until now as he is having the worst season of his career. Anthony Davis cannot catch a break with injuries and the squad is just badly built. LeBron James is the only player to perform at a high level consistently. LeBron recently stressed in a post-match interview that he is “literally having the time of my life right now.”
Stephen A. Smith took exception to LeBron’s comments and had this to say on Stephen A’s World, “The Los Angeles Lakers are 10 games below 500. That is ninth place in the western conference, locked in the play-in round, assuming they make it to the play-in round. Anthony Davis is in street clothes again, Russell Westbrook is in the midst of the worst season of his career. The Lakers are the biggest disappointment of the 2022 season. But LeBron James, he says he is having the time of his life and to my knowledge, he is not having the time of his life because he fell in love dancing at summer camp. LeBron is having the time of his life because, well, I don’t know exactly. Maybe he has lost his damn mind to be quite honest with you.

The outspoken analyst continued his rant by saying, “Because all this time, I thought LeBron James was about winning. That is why he took his talents to South Beach, right? That is why he went back to Cavaliers, right? To win the city of Cleveland a chip. That is why he went to LA, to Tinseltown, even though he did win a chip there too. Personally, I thought LeBron James would be quite miserable playing on this particular Lakers team.
But you know what? He is doing everything he can, I can’t deny that. And he is playing some damn good basketball in the process. Might win a scoring title at the age of 37. Look y’all, I will never begrudge anybody to happiness but the rest of y’all on this sorry Lakers team, I don’t want to see any smiles on any of your faces because you’ve let LeBron James down considering the way he is playing. The Lakers have been struggling miserably, we know this. They’ve underachieved miserably, we know this which is why it is hard to fathom why LeBron James is having the time of his life.”
