The LA Lakers will welcome the Sacramento Kings to the Crypto.com Arena for an NBA preseason game on Monday. The Lakers had a terrible last season where they failed on all fronts and finished in 11th place in the Western Conference, which meant they failed to even make the play-in tournament. What was supposed to be a great season with the addition of Russell Westbrook somehow turned into a nightmare for the Purple and Gold.
Frank Vogel was sacked and Darvin Ham was named as the head coach for the upcoming season. The addition of Patrick Beverley will be great as he is a premier defender and will add a lot to a team so devoid of defensive quality last season. LeBron James has been having great workouts in the practice sessions and is primed for what will be his 20th season in the NBA. Dennis Schroder will bring much needed shooting prowess and will look to chip in with valuable points.
The Sacramento Kings finished last season in 12th place in the Western Conference standings with a record of 30 wins and 52 losses. Similar to the Lakers, the King also sacked their head coach Luke Walton and later his interim replacement Alvin Gentry and replaced him with Mike Brown for the upcoming season. The signing of Kent Bazemore, Quinn Cook and Malik Monk will no doubt give Sacramento an edge in the new season and they will be hopeful of staging a good performance this time around.
