Grayson Allen is currently one of the hottest subjects in the NBA, and not for the reasons you may think. The Milwaukee Bucks player was involved in a contentious incident on Friday night when he attempted to block Alex Caruso on his approach to the rim and injured the Chicago Bulls guard. Aside from being criticized by Caruso and Bulls head coach Billy Donovan, Allen was also chastised by fans, who labelled him a filthy player and demanded the NBA to penalise him for the duration of Caruso’s absence.

Allen, a former member of the Los Angeles Lakers, will be out for 6-8 weeks, earning him even more scorn from Bulls fans and the rest of the NBA world.

“We’re always going to be a team, we’re going to be brothers. Grayson, we know Grayson. He’s not that type of player,” Holiday said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “He didn’t do it maliciously and he didn’t want to see Caruso get hurt. I feel like those are the type of guys we recruit and we love playing with. Grayson didn’t do it on purpose. We know that and he knows that, so he knows that we have his back.”

Allen has a history of being a dirty player, something NBA fans were reminded of when he attacked one of the league’s most popular players. Fans want the league to punish him and set an example because Caruso didn’t like what he did and called him out. Next March 4, Chicago will host Milwaukee, and Allen will almost certainly hear more boos than he has ever heard in his life.
